...or does this kind of sound right?
“Democracy demands that the religiously motivated translate their concerns into universal, rather than religion-specific, values. It requires that their proposals be subject to argument, and amenable to reason. I may be opposed to abortion for religious reasons, but if I seek to pass a law banning the practice, I cannot simply point to the teachings of my church or evoke God's will. I have to explain why abortion violates some principle that is accessible to people of all faiths, including those with no faith at all” (A Call to Renewal). - Barack Obama
If I wasn't so disillusioned with the political process right now I would honestly be agonizing over who to vote for in November. There are things I really like about Obama. There are things I really don't like about Obama. There are things I really like about McCain...and things I really don't like about McCain. I honestly don't know what to do.
And in a move that will probably bar me from ever setting foot in my old church again...I am posting this website. I hope we can still be friends.
"He has showed you, O man, what is good. And what does the LORD require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God. - Micah 6:8
